Campagnolo electronic has been released on the pro circuit with Movistar team being the first to get there hands on it. Much hype was generated when the Movistar team won the overhall team's classification prize for the TDU at this years Tour Down Under. For the 'Campy Tech Lab' debut things couldn't have kicked off better for them. Questions surrounding the groupset was expected and obvious comparisons to Shimano's Di2 was voiced. The main difference is the 11 speed over shimano's 10 and the operating difference with the sifters. Shimano have micro buttons on the shifters were Campagnolo have opted for curved levers in the normal campagnolo location inside the brake hoods. The system has the same basic layout as Shimano's with electric cables connecting the shifters to the derailleurs via the battery. The battery, which is mounted on the frame in the same location as Shimano's below the downtube water bottle cage. Reports are limited as the groupset is currently only on the Pinarello's supplied to the Movistar team riders. It is said that there are different features to Shimano's Di2 but we well have to wait and see. Price, weight, official name and release date are all still unknown but there will centanly be alot of speculation to come. Keep an eye out for the highly antesipated groupset.
