Why did you decide to join Bikeology team?:
Jimmy had a gun and he looked like he knew how to use it... The Bikeology crew are a great bunch of people who all love to ride and manage to balance a healthy rivalry with a good sense of comraderie.
Why have you chosen mountain biking as your sport?:
I love it. The variety of the tracks and conditions mean I'll never get bored.
What is your favourite race track?:
Kennilworth in QLD, Coffs in NSW, Buller in VIC and Mt Gambier in SA.
Which part of the DH or XC do you enjoy the most? (high speeds, cornering, technical, climbing):
I like all aspects of downhill but particularly like the technical stuff. Wet, slippery rocks and roots. Also love any track with good flow - I hate stop and go stuff.
What was your worst 'blunder' during a race?:
Only forgetting to push myself hard enough and finishing with energy left over.
Do you cross train using another discipline of cycling?:
A bit of XC MTB and some BMX track stuff. I get bored too easily to ride XC for long, and road riding is suicidal on Aussie roads.
What are your future goals?:
Jessica Alba. Oh and podium this year in the QLD state series.
What are your best results so far?:
Qualified 4th in Elite in the SA State series, a 5th in Elite in QLD, several top 10s in Expert. Podiums seem to elude me however.
Are you a team player?:
Yeah, although I prefer the solo aspect of downhill.
Which athletes provide you with most inspiration and why?:
Sam Hill is just amazing to watch, Kovarik for his aggressive style, Nico for pure brilliance.
What would you say to somebody thinking about getting into mountain biking?:
Thinking is over rated. Get a bike and get on the trails. You'll thank me later.
